Selamat Hari Gawai & Selamat Hari Raya!

Gawai is an Iban word meaning "festival", and it is a traditional celebration held at the end of the harvest period, chiefly by the Iban people, but to a lesser degree by the other indigenous tribes of Sarawak, Borneo. Held annually on the 1st of June, Sarawakians will usually spend this time visiting family and friends, holding feasts and open houses, and drinking the traditional rice wine called tuak.

Hari Raya means "festival day" in Bahasa Malaysia, and is a shorthand colloquial term for Hari Raya Aidilfitri, or Eid al-Fitr, an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting. This year, Hari Raya Aidilfitri falls on June 15th and 16th.

Well, here's even more incentive to carry tissues with us wherever we go: you can now dress up your tissue packets with our chic and practical Batik Tissue Pouches! Each Tissue Pouch is 100% made in Sarawak, and can fit a large tissue packet. We designed them with durability in mind, so each pouch is made from a water resistant Nylon material. And for that exciting pop of colour, we used a beautiful cotton fabric in our traditional Batik and Pua Kumbu patterns!

These special edition Aara doll pins were inspired by the native ladies of Borneo, and their beautiful traditional attire! Available in 3 varieties: Iban, Bidayuh, and Orang Ulu. Made from enamel, these pins are sturdy with a gorgeus metallic shine, and secured at the back with a butterfly clasp.
